Long Term ECG Ambulatory Recording
Long term ambulatory ECG recording can be utilised for dogs and cats who have intermittent episodes of weakness or collapse where the conventional holter recording has failed to provide a diagnosis.
We use Reveal devices which are implanted just under the skin and can stay there for as long as we want. These devices are programmable to only record periods where the heart rhythm is abnormal, for example we can program it to only record periods where the heart rate becomes too slow usually less than 60 bpm or to fast usually greater than 200 bpm.
